fiber•logue is a blog that explores traditions in textile craft. Through original stories, personal anecdotes, inspirational pictures, and links to textile news around the web, fiber•logue educates about textile traditions. Recognizing that the making of textiles is centuries old, fiber•logue looks at textiles around the world within the context of culture, history, customs, and heritage. fiber•logue celebrates the activities of slow crafting – the process of textile craft from fiber source to completed project as carried out by individual artisans. When discussing textile production, fiber•logue considers issues of responsibility, such as fair economics and ecological impact.
It is hoped that with these goals in mind, fiber•logue will educate new learners about traditions in making textiles, as well as those already working in the craft, as a way of keeping alive the heritage.
